Referral Biography
“Dr. Ben” as he is known by his pediatric clients is a clinical psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology and assessments. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Weber State University and completed his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Phoenix. He later returned to school to complete a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Twin Cities where he specialized in health and neuropsychology. He also received specialized trainings in forensic and rehabilitative psychology.
Dr. Christiansen received training at The Hennepin County Medical Center - Neuropsychology Department, Department of Justice - Federal Medical Center in Rochester, MN with Grand Rounds occurring at The Mayo Clinic, and an advanced training at Valley Mental Health - Forensics Unit. He completed his pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology at The Applied Psychology Group of Texoma in Texas and his 2-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Neuropsychology Center of Utah.
Dr. Christiansen’s professional experiences have afforded him opportunities to work with every age group. He has worked in various mental health and correction institutions including private practice, group homes, outpatient community health programs, Division of Juvenile Justice Services, Division of Child and Family Services, inpatient mental health facilities, federal and state prisons, adult and youth detention facilities, outpatient forensic units, and medical hospitals. He was a substitute teacher for several years, providing services specifically for youth in custody programs.
