Program Description: The doctoral psychology internship program at Southern Utah University provides generalist training in individual, couples, and group therapy; psychological assessment, outreach and consultation. Interns may pursue additional training in a variety of other areas including career counseling, outreach, and biofeedback. Interns also have opportunities to collaborate with a number of university offices including University Housing, SUU Athletics, and Career and Professional Development. Populations: Adolescents, adults, older adults, outpatients, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender, ethnic minorities, students, international students, rural populations, and low-income.
Treatment Modalities: Assessment, individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, consultation/liaison, crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, and long-term psychotherapy.
Experience: Physical disabilities, learning disabilities, assessment, anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, sexual abuse, counseling, vocational/career development, religion/spirituality, and empirically-supported treatments.

Skype/Phone Interview: Early January
Interviews include: Applicants will be notified by email regarding their interview status. Interviews with the Selection Committee will be 45 minutes by Skype or phone (according to the applicant's preference) in early January. Applicants who have been invited to interview may contact staff or current interns to learn more about the internship training program.
Requirements for application: Pass comprehensive exams and have dissertation proposal approved by ranking deadline.
Minimum number of AAPI Intervention Hours: 300
Minimum number of years of grad training required: 3
Additional Information: Prefers students from Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology programs. Prefers students from APA-Accredited programs, but will accept students from CPA-Accredited programs and non-accredited programs. Prefers students from Ph.D. and Psy.D. degree programs, but will accept students from Ed.D. degree programs.
