Referral Biography
My main theoretical approach is psychodynamic which focuses on attachment and family relationships, but there are times when this varies based on the client. I usually work with the child individually some as well as help the family with their needs. Since I work with very young children, from infancy through 10 years of age, I use play therapy primarily with a variety of techniques to meet the client's needs. Interventions may include relationship work, verbally processing experiences, cognitive behavioral strategies, behavioral interventions (with parenting or school issues), social skills training, and others. I provide psychological evaluations for children to assess their development across intellectual, motor, behavioral, emotional, and social areas. I consult extensively with pediatricians, psychiatrists, schools, and other professionals and caregivers to ensure the all-around best care for my clients. In addition, I make sure to connect clients to other community resources.
