Referral Biography
Healing is difficult, and it certainly isn't linear. I believe one of the best ways to work through emotional pain is to first allow yourself to feel it. I often work to help clients change their relationship with their emotions from one of avoidance to acceptance. I see value in attending to emotional injuries and pain, while also attending to the influence of early experiences. I strive to be culturally responsive in my work, and place a great emphasis on developing a strong, authentic connection with my clients. Most importantly, I highly value flexibility, and believe treatment should ultimately be adapted for each individual.
I am a generalist by training, meaning that I have been trained to work with a multitude of presenting concerns and diagnoses. Additionally, I have special interests and expertise in couples therapy, transaffirmative care, grief counseling, & trauma-focused therapy. I am a queer-affirming therapist, and center acceptance and openness in my practice.
I aim to collaboratively develop a plan for healing that works for each individual. I often consult current empirical research in order to make sure each of my clients is getting the best and most updated care available. If you are hoping to grow, heal, or accept yourself, send me a message and we can start discussing a personalized treatment plan for you.
